Hello! My name is Wendy Phua and I am a Composer & Sound Designer based in New Zealand, with 20 years experience in the audio industry, game music, sound design & audio postproduction. I have scored or licensed music & sound design for online slot games and video slot machines of leading gaming brands such as Pocket Games Software (PG SOFT), Naga Games, Royal Charm (King/Playstudios), and Weike Gaming Technology.
I am passionate about my work and take pride in the detail I apply to my craft, from creative music composition to cutting edge audio design and implementation techniques. Working closely with my clients from start to finish, I aim to capture their vision and bring it to life. I have produced high-quality audio assets for 100+ slot games successfully launched in popular Southeast Asian casino resorts like Marina Bay Sands Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa, as well as top online casino game providers. I write music spanning across genres like epic orchestral, ancient Asia (Chinese & Japanese), traditional folk (Celtic, South American, Greek), jazz, dance, hybrid orchestral, pop and more.
Aside from studio work, I also actively perform onstage as a session bassist on the acoustic upright and electric bass guitar. As a Yamaha (SG) endorsed artist, I have performed with Akira Jimbo (Casiopea), James LoMenzo (Megadeth), Mel Gayner (Simple Minds), Shaggy, and Emma Shapplin. My solo bass EP release Between Here And Then (2008) garnered glowing reviews by Musikuz (Czech) and Bass Frontiers Magazine (US), and received airplay on Mediacorp radio networks Lush 99.5FM, Rediffusion Singapore, and News Radio 93.8FM. Having relocated to New Zealand in mid-2021, I am now playing with bands Brazilian Social Club, Christchurch All Girl Big Band and Sun City Soul in various music festivals and popular entertainment venues all around the top of the South.
